- Documents CHCA2018/02/081 /5I came in to get a sandwich from the deli and waited to be helped for about 5 minutes but no was was there, I looked into the kitchen and still saw no one so I shouted "hello?" Finally, an older Indo-Canadian woman came out and rudely said " can I help you?". Since I wanted a sandwich, I kindly asked her to change her gloves because she was beginning to prep the sandwich with old ones she was wearing. I don't know what she was handling before so i think its understandable. I don't think she liked that. She didn't ask any questions like if I wanted the sandwich toasted or if I wanted any veggies. She kept saying "is that it?". Overall, this experience felt very rushed and rude. She had no smile, just cold dead eyes. She signed twice and that's the most emotion I saw from her. I would not eat here again because they don't seem to follow any food safe standards. Everything seemed dirty, from the bread and veggies to the floor and clutter of things like food prep all over the counters. Solid 0/10 from me. I'll definitely be warning everyone I know not to eat from here.
- Sarah Pinkerton2017/12/212 /5I have been going to this store fore almost nine years and since the Sobey's take over I have seen a slow decline. I find the meat department's quality and staff has always been top notch. The deli department is the worst I have ever dealt with though. Staff is too buy talking and gossiping with each other in the back. When I finally have to yell "Hello" to get some serve they sign and stomp out like I am bugging them. And forget about getting a sandwich.. slow to help you, dirty surroundings, and rude staff. They used to have really great, efficient and friendly cashiers that I came to know and recognize. The last few times I have been there I haven't recognized anyone, most of the lanes are closed, forcing us to go to the express lane when we have more than 15 items, and the staff is slow and incompetent. I am now going to do all my shopping at the store located at Fraser and 152 Street.
